NJ Home Health Care CHHA Training Restart Plan

In a response to the COVID-19 Pandemic and to Executive Order 155, NJ Home Health Care has developed a restart plan that is as follows:
  • NJ Home Health Care will offer remote instruction for the 60 hours of classroom (didactic) portion of the training. The hours of the classroom learning will remain the same and will be held on the same dates that were approved by the Board of Nursing.
  • The course will resume on September 14.
  • The clinical portion of the training (16 hours) will be scheduled for in-person instruction with the following changes:
  • The capacity will be 6 students (25% of our classroom capacity) to ensure for adequate social distancing
  • The times of the clinical instruction will be staggered throughout the day and two additional days will be added to accommodate for small class size
  • Training Instructors, office staff, and students will be trained on COVID-19 sanitization and social distancing practices and protocols
  • Use of face coverings for anyone in the classroom will be mandatory (unless if inhibits individual’s health)
  • The classroom policies and procedures will change to include more frequent cleaning and sanitization of classroom, restrooms, and equipment
  • The agency will ensure that there is adequate supply of PPE and cleaning supplies
  • There will be a hand sanitizing station at all entry points with at least 60% alcohol
  • Health screenings (such as temperature checks) will be conducted for anyone who enters classroom
  • In order to support contact tracing protocols, the agency will maintain a log of names and phone numbers of anyone who enters the facility
